What We Are Looking For
The Chemical Product Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing flexographic materials, using UV adhesives, UV and water-based inks, and topcoats. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development, quality control, and technical transfer. This role is also responsible for conducting research, development, and implementation of new raw materials, processes, and technologies.
What You Will Do
  • Lead and document development projects with adherence to a formal new product development process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality control, to support new product development, quality control, and technical transfer
  • Design and develop new flexographic materials using UV adhesives, UV and water-based inks, and topcoats
  • Conduct experiments to optimize formulation parameters such as viscosity, adhesion, and cure speed
  • Facilitate product testing to ensure performance meets established criteria and industry standards
  • Analyze experimental data and provide clear and concise reports to the project team and management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records, including experimental data, observations, and conclusions
  • Identify and study relevant regulatory and standards requirements and guide product development with adherence to those requirements
  • Interface with strategic global partners to create industry leading solutions
  • Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Identify and evaluate new raw materials, processes, and technologies for potential use in new and existing products
What You Will Bring
  • Preferred experience with laboratory equipment such as rheometers, viscometers, and thermal analysis instruments
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the development of flexographic materials, specifically using UV adhesives, UV and water-based ink, and topcoats
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Relevant Internship experience will be considered
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred experience with statistical analysis tools and software, such as Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
  • Familiarity with applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, materials science, and formulation development preferred
