Job Description
What to Expect

Chemical Operators focus on 2-3 operations during their shift and provide data to senior operators. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, be safety conscious, display attention to detail, be adaptable, have good communication skills and be able to work in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate equipment necessary as a Chemical Operator. This position is responsible for performing quality control testing, product packaging and loading, unloading finished goods and raw material.

What You’ll Do
  • Manufacture batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following written and verbal work instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Perform quality control testing as required
  • Perform calibrations on equipment
  • Complete required preventive maintenance
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Follow procedures to safely and efficiently operate equipment related to the manufacturing of chemicals
  • Communicate with senior chemical operator and team members regarding safety, production, quality, and operational issues
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Use equipment and instrumentation to monitor pressure, temperature, and other conditions
What You’ll Bring
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending and lifting
  • Climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 lbs
  • Pass pulmonary function tests and physical exam for respirator use

The Preferred Candidate Will Have

  • Basic understanding of computers
  • Proven ability to follow procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Basic knowledge of controls equipment including flow meters, level sensors and pressure sensors
  • Ability to handle tasks from initiation to completion
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions
  • Desire to work hard and be dependable
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
