Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Must be able to interface with Government Representatives.
  • Ensure proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
  • Inspect aircraft at specific intervals as required by Navy maintenance documentation.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled Corrosion Control (including washing) of aircraft and Ground Support Equipment, when required.
  • Comply with Technical Directives when directed by the Navy, manufacturer or company.
  • Must be familiar with line troubleshooting/operations and safety requirements.
  • Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Knowledge of materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
  • May be required to become Engine Ground Run Certified.
  • Required to perform operational test of assigned aircraft systems to effect repair status.
  • Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy Instructions, Manufacturer Manuals and Company Instructions.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Manufacturer and Company Instructions.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Must have the ability to deal courteously with the customer.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished to include efficient entry of electronic data into NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials and equipment as required.
  • Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
  • Read, interpret, and apply instructions from blueprints, schematics and other approved data.
  • May be required to travel via military and/or commercial air/ground in support of recovery missions, training detachments, hurricane evacuations, or other off-site support.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
  • Perform corrosion control cleaning and removal as required utilizing appropriate safety precautions.
  • Assist when directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment.
  • Maintains and contributes to an effective Quality Management System meeting the requirements of AS9110/ISO 9001.
  • May be required to perform simple computer input functions.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must have valid state operator’s license and be able to pass the government licensing requirements.
  • Other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs repair and replacement of Airframe, Powerplant, Electrical and Avionics systems components and accessories.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions; perform necessary corrective action on landing gear, engines, fuel system, electrical and avionics aircraft systems.
  • Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around the assigned work area.
  • Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed.
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical details.
  • A good working knowledge of assigned aircraft maintenance and parts manuals.
  • Be able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours.

POSITION SCOPE AND CHARTER

Must have a minimum of three (3) years documented hands on general experience in this specific aircraft maintenance occupational field, or the military or commercial equivalent. Must be familiar with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics and normal safety requirements. Must be able to meet any Government/company licensing/qualification requirements for the position. FAA A&P License is desired.

  • Some travel will be required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical Effort: Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
