Background & Purpose of the Job
Category Strategy & Planning (CS&P) is a mission critical function that represents the voice of the shopper & customer to the Brand teams by bringing the outside world in to ensure our internal plans are ready for market.
The Category Planning Manager for Textured Hair & Skincare is a key leader on the cross functional team and is responsible for ensuring channel and customer insights are incorporated in the development of brand and category plans and building execution against those plans in the context of retailer strategy.
This role represents the customer in core organizational processes including S&OP, Integrated Business Planning & Net Revenue Management. Total annual responsibility for consumer NSV is approx. $600MM annually.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter, with deep understanding and connection to the multicultural consumer and a passion for growth to support the unlocking of these opportunities and further turbo-charge the category's positive momentum.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do:
You are responsible for leading the development and deployment of retailer and channel specific plans, which deliver category development and competitive growth in the marketplace. The Category Planning Manager interfaces strategically across the business, representing Customer Development interests internally with the brand leadership team.
  • Make strategic trade-offs and define investment framework (Trade, SM, ISV, Retail coverage)
  • Integrating Customer Development functions to deliver brand/marketing plans – ensuring brand DNA comes to life in channels. Champion of relevant category expertise into channels while improving return
  • Leads a team of two
  • Key CS&P leader for Textured Hair & Skincare Cross-functional team
  • Synchronize resources to lead profitable growth across a complex, multi customer and channel environment
  • Leads business operations to provide accurate and efficient S&OP process

What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Strong understanding of customer operations and channel drivers
  • 7+ years of experience in consumer goods and sales/customer development
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Holistic business thinking with clear evidence of addressing business challenges and delivery
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Passion for the fast beauty industry

Pay: The pay range for this position is $110,700 to $166,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
