Job Description
Make a difference with ARCHES ! The ARCHES Diversion Assistance Program (ADAP) Case Manager serves individuals and families in Marion and Polk Counties who are at risk of homelessness due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This program is designed for moderate to high needs clients who are best supported through an extended level of assistance, while removing barriers that aid in stable housing. The Case Manager will perform eligibility screening, program enrollment, participant follow-ups, process required paperwork, data entry and other general program supports. This position aligns with the Housing First initiatives of the ARCHES Project. Candidates must submit application by 06/08/2023 in order to be considered for first round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE An Associate's Degree in a Social Service or a related field; and two years of related social service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience are acceptable. Ideal candidates will possess two or more years of housing and homeless delivery services and mental health certifications and/or licensing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Basic proficiencies in computers, MS Office products, database software and web tools. Must possess excellent planning, organization and time management skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form. Knowledge of or experience with: the principles of trauma informed care, working with vulnerable populations, as well as best practices in housing first service delivery is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Approved Drive Status is required for this position, including a valid driver's license, auto insurance, vehicle for use on the job or access to agency vehicle, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous five years. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. This position is subject to MWVCAA's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Facilitates the distribution of program funds and barrier removal funds. Ensures access to housing assessments and resources for clients. Assesses client eligibility and aids in gathering documentation as required for intake, enrollment, and financial assistance. Helps clients access wraparound services, including food; childcare; education; mental health services; healthcare; transportation; and/or employment resources. Establishes and maintains an active working relationship with community partners including but not limited to the Judicial system and Marion and Polk County landlords. Maintains full compliance with all federal, state, and grant program and funding requirements, setting high standards for data quality and compliance performance, remaining in compliance with the regulations of all funding streams . Maintains strict confidentiality. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no supervisory duties in this position. Maintains calm dispositions and regulates emotions when clients, staff, or others may become escalated. Regulates emotions and handles pressure of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks. Regulates emotions during interactions with escalated clients and staff. Attends and engages in required annual trainings. Specific vision abilities are required of this position. Frequently required to hear and speak. Occasionally operates a motor vehicle as needed to perform duties at sites or client locations. Frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling computers, devices and office equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires on-site work and is not eligible for remote work. Occasional urgent situations requiring law enforcement involvement and/or paramedic professionals. Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior. Occasional exposure to trash, bodily fluids and malodorous air. Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other infectious conditions. PPE, face coverings may be required. Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Occasional outdoor environment. *COVID-19 Alert : This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus.
