Job Essentials


  • Consistently document all communication, actions, and information
  • Assist with special programs and data collection for process improvement projects
  • Support advanced care planning by delivering advance directive information and notarizing documents
  • Ensure online provider lists are current in all systems to support a compliant patient choice process
  • Serve as the primary contact with payers, prioritizing requests and obtaining authorization for services
  • Deliver regulatory notices to patients within required timeframe
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle staff to research payment sources
  • Perform various clerical tasks to support care management services, such as preparing reports, scheduling appointments, and distributing requests
  • Report issues and concerns to departmental chain-of-command
  • Maintain up-to-date list of contractual requirements and contact information for payers, distributing new information to care management staff and leaders
  • Request and retrieve medical records for utilization or quality assurance review
  • Communicate utilization review needs, days authorized, denials, and other payer communication to care managers and physician advisors
  • Provide support for transition planning, including preparing transfer packets and arranging transportation


Minimum Qualifications


  • Experience coordinating projects
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficient interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and other English language skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in developing spreadsheets, creating charts and graphs, word processing, and creating presentations
  • 2 years of experience working in an office setting, clerical position, or customer service role
  • 1 year of experience working in a clinical healthcare setting


Preferred Qualifications


  • College courses related to healthcare, business, or computer/information systems
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Experience with medical transcription
  • Bilingual proficiency


Physical Requirements


  • Operate computers, telephones, and office equipment
  • See and read computer monitors and documents
  • Interact with others, verbally communicate, and understand spoken information
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time
