Position Overview
Responsible for layout, takeoff, and building structures using wood and steel studs. Other tasks will include setting millwork, installing commercial grade steel frame walk doors, installing bathroom accessories. When not doing carpentry, must be willing to support other projects to include general laborer support.
Responsibilities And Duties
  • Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
  • And other duties as assigned
  • Both finish and rough carpentry duties
  • Support the overall project as needed
  • Install partitions, doors, and windows.
  • Work with prefabricated buildings.
  • Use levels, rules, lasers, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
  • Select materials.
  • Install cabinets and molding.
  • Build concrete forms
  • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors.
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
  • Create structures for pouring concrete.
  • Move and install machinery.
  • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
  • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
  • Prepare the layout of the project.
  • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.

Education and Experience:
  • Knowledge of basic tools and their applications
  • Basic math skills
Personal Characteristics
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to follow all safe work procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivated to learn new skills and trades
  • Willing to go the extra mile for the team
  • Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients.
  • Ability to work at above ground elevations while wearing a harness and other protective equipment
  • Adaptable in methods used to complete task
  • Follows directions of manager / lead / superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed
  • Shows up on time ready to complete work
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to safely perform duties related to confined space work.
  • Must be able to climb ladders repetitively
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Ability to complete tasks such as loading, un-loading, cleaning, shoveling, and painting.
