Job Description

Position Summary:

As the a Middle and High School Campus Life Director, you will use your relational ministry skills to reach students that are far from God with the Good News. Responsibilities include delivering innovative and impactful weekly programming as well as building relationships and community among Middle and High School students. Qualified candidates will be relational oriented, capable of leading volunteers and staff, mission driven and innovative. We are looking for someone who has a track record reaching lost teens, has strong interpersonal skills and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Functions/Job Duties

45% Ministry: Provide leadership and oversight to the personal, program, and special ministry areas in carrying out YFC’s mission.

Personal Ministry: Model and empower others to implement the following relational ministry actions:

  • Prayer Team: Pray for students and provide a weekly prayer list for the Youth for Christ prayer
  • Churches: Develop relationships with pastors and youth workers and partner together in the mission of involving young people in church. (Speaking at churches, boards, classes, etc)
  • Appointments: Conducting appointments for counseling, ministry, evangelism, etc)
  • Special Ministry: Manage a team that provides the behind the scenes program ministry support. (Set-up, clean up, refreshments, transportation, video and photos, and administration)
  • Develop a Community Support Team: Develop and work with a team that meets at least twice each semester to support the Middle and High School Campus Life Director in the areas of: prayer, ministry, fundraising, and community relations.
  • Administration: Ensure that administrative responsibilities are covered in conjunction with
  • 10% Fundraising: Raise funds for the mission of YFC while serving the needs of the community
  • Projects: Assist in the organization and execution of special administrative projects.
  • 10% Community Relations: Raise awareness of YFC while serving the needs of the community
  • Parents: Develop relationships and provide good communication and support for parents.
  • Communications: Provide written and verbal communication with students, parents, donors,
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, develop, and supervise multiple teams of volunteers to carry out weekly ministry at ministry sites. Duties include: Conducting weekly meetings, providing on-going training, and meeting individually with volunteers for encouragement and accountability.
  • Large Group: Conduct and oversee weekly ministry sites that reach Middle and High School students
  • Trips and Events: Conduct and/or participate in special trips and events throughout the year
  • Teams.
  • Personal Support: Personally provide an opportunity for others to financially support you and your ministry.
  • Staff Management: Develop and supervise other paid staff by conducting weekly meetings, providing ongoing accountability and helping them develop their own ministry.
  • Office staff.
  • Small Groups: Provide leadership and oversight to the Campus Life small group ministry
  • Supervision: Attend weekly staff meetings, planning retreats, and meetings with supervisor as scheduled.
  • Personal Development: Engage in a personal growth plan to reach your full potential.
  • Schools: Develop a strong relationship with the school system through volunteer service.
  • Correspondence: Establish communication with students and adults through various mediums
  • Abiding: Engage in a daily connected, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Building Times: Meeting with students for the sake of building relationships.
  • Student Leadership: Develop a team of student leaders and empower them to reach their
  • 20% Staff/Volunteers: Pursue and model a healthy, Spirit-led life that is fruitful in ministry, while encouraging and empowering staff and volunteers to do the same.
  • Special Events: Participate in Youth for Christ’s current fundraising events and projects. (Comedy Café, Peach Sales, etc.)
  • And the YFC constituency.
  • Contacting: Meeting new students, learning names, and developing relationships through weekly school involvement, as well as other places where students gather.
  • Planning: Establish short and long-term vision and planning for the Campus Life ministry.
  • Friends through YFC’s ministry strategy.
  • Program Support: Develop a growing base of support through personal and ministry contacts for the Middle and High School Campus Life ministry
  • Camps: Sponsor and/or participate in ministry camps and retreats.
  • Youth Worker Network and Ministry Coalition: Participate in the monthly youth worker network meetings and help develop a Youth Ministry Coalition, where YFC and like-minded churches work together to strategically reach the students.
  • Training: Complete the Youth for Christ credentialing process, conduct ministry site visits to observe effective ministry, and participate in on-going training and continuing education.
  • Ministry Reporting: Maintain records of student attendance, and accurate student information for YFC’s Impact ministry reports.
  • 15% Administration: To provide the necessary administrative support to advance the mission of YFC
  • Program Ministry: Work with a team to develop, implement, and oversee programming for Campus Life ministry sites.
  • Follow-up: Implement YFC’s follow-up plan for new believers
