Our food services support local vendors AND remove all the pain points for school administrators and parents when it comes to supplying nutritious and delicious meals to kids.

Since launching a pilot in Spring 2018 in Charlottesville, VA, we have expanded rapidly now serving multiple markets along the East Coast. About The Role

The Café Lead will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day performance of the on-campus café at Regina Dominican High School. The Café Lead will have day-to-day operational decision making, as well as input into strategic decisions, for the betterment of the program. In addition, this team member will help to shape the on campus café experience across Yay Lunch, as we roll this concept out to other schools.

You Will

• Be responsible for shrink and waste management
• Conduct weekly team meetings and daily standups
• Oversight of nearby routes servicing other schools
• Hire, train, and manage team members including scheduling, payroll, and working with HR on employment matters
• Be available for emergency issues involving the team or the café
• Be the primary point of contact for school administrators at Yay Lunch
• Work with internal customer service team to resolve issues
• Ensure faculty is kept organized and clean
• Follow current and help create new SOPs for service and cafe function
• Monitor all product to ensure proper rotation and code date management
• Daily and weekly inventory management, ordering, and receiving
• Work with Leadership to identify opportunities for growth, and develop execution plan, including economic impact
• Work with marketing for and merchandising for special theme events
• Logistic management of supply pick up
• Manage day-to-day operations and be a hands on team member in all operations of service

• Personable, engaging, and able to discuss the program with a Head of School and a favorite dish with a 4th grader
• Detailed oriented + hyper-organized, meeting business objectives
• People-oriented with a focus on driving team engagement

You Must Have

• Proficiency with Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Word, Hangout, etc.)
• Food management experience, preferably cafe, catering or small restaurant
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience hiring and developing an hourly workforce
• Strong time management skills
• A reliable personal vehicle, great driving record, & car insurance
• Meticulous attention to detail - whether keeping the cafe clean and organized or entering data for ordering management
