We currently have an opening for a mid-level CAD Technician to join our Design team located in Bellevue, WA. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for producing CAD drawings involving structural, mechanical (heavy moveable structures), electrical, and civil/site elements on locks, dams, levees, guide walls, bridges, and other infrastructure. The CAD Designer will be an integral part of a team that is nationally known for their expertise in inland navigation, flood control, and coastal protection structures.The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years in structural drafting and 2-5 years experience utilizing Bentley’s OpenBuilding Designer (formerly known as AECOsim Building Designer) Connect edition.

Your Role

• Communicate effectively with Engineers and other CADD Team members.
• Setup MicroStation drawings to conform to client standards (ability to do this in AutoCAD would be a plus).
• Utilize CADD best practices and QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of their work.
• Effectively produce CAD drawings using Bentley Connect Series Software and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with Tetra Tech CAD managers to implement Project CAD Standards.
• Proactively engage with project managers and design engineers to ensure timely project completion within allocated budgets, which may include occasional overtime work.
• Analyze complex sketches, notes and other input to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision.

Your Qualifications

• Over 5 years of relevant experience and working knowledge of structural/ electrical/ mechanical engineering principles, practices, and methods.
• Associates Degree in Drafting/Design preferred.
• Solid work ethic with attention to detail, a care for the handling of projects, and a desire to improve and grow their knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, committed to project schedules and deadlines, able to work within a team environment and independently, and self-motivated.
• Experience using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CAD Standards is a plus.
• Proven knowledge of plan set development and ability to conform to various jurisdictional standards is required.
• 5-10 years of strong design experience and competence with Bentley products is required (AutoDesk is a plus). Bentley OpenBuildings Designer support is the primary need.

The hourly wage for this position is approximately $33 to $43/hour depending on education, qualifications, experience and work location.
