Summary

We are hiring for a CAD, Mechanical Designer. This person can be based out of our Ohio or Michigan locations and will be responsible for creating and refining unique design solutions to complex engineering problems, among other responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

DESIGN LEADERSHIP

• Creating and refining unique design solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Applying intensive and diversified knowledge of mechanical, refractory, and structural CAD design for furnace refractory and practices across broad areas of assignments and making design decisions independently.
• Delivering quality designs on manufacturing and furnace projects to help ensure we are delivering quality drawings, on schedule, and within budget.

COORDINATION & COLLABORATION

• Work with project team to drive the design to completion while adhering to client standards and project required level of design.
• Creation of glass melting furnaces and refractory design and detailing of structural steel, cat walks and platforms.
• Defining the project scope of work—breaking it down into smaller, manageable tasks and milestones that are delegated to team members who are empowered to execute—and presenting project progress regularly to the client to ensure satisfaction with delivery along the way.

Education/Experience

Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:

• Experience designing equipment or highly detailed components.
• High school diploma required. Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields preferred.
• Must have AutoCAD and Inventor experience. SolidWorks is acceptable in place of Inventor
• 7+ years design experience in engineering or architectural fields preferred.
