• Reports to Section Supervisor, Laboratory Manager, and Pathologist.
• All employees are responsible for extending the mission and values of Baltimore Washington Medical Center by dedicating oneself to providing the highest quality healthcare services to the communities we serve.
• Under the supervision of the Section Supervisor, performs ordering, procurement, receiving and processing of patient specimens. This position requires practical and theoretical knowledge of phlebotomy procedures. Patient contact and specimens from patients may include age groups from infants to adult-geriatric.

Qualifications

• Basic computer experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Vocational schooling in medical sciences or previous phlebotomy training preferred.
• Ability to communicate well with physicians, supervisors, nurses and co-workers.
