The Business Solution Specialist is responsible for supporting increased sales/case penetration and improved profitability in key integrated delivery network (IDN) and healthcare accounts, developing new customer relationships, new sales growth, and respond to local/national requests for business/menu solutions. Through the introduction and implementation of US Foods programs and future solutions-based services, strengthen US Foods relationship with the customer at the local level, support the Senior Business Solutions Specialist activities at the integrated delivery network (IDN) level, and group purchasing organization (GPO) level. Focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness; provide expertise in cost reduction methodologies, creative approaches to revenue enhancement, and support the Sr. Business Specialist with IDN strategy development for the customer.


This position has been segmented as Remote Region-based meaning the work is completed 100% remote/virtual within the Region the position supports. *Based on candidate location, region will be assigned later.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for targeted sales plan of $30 M- $50 M dollars. Support sales plans, for the IDN and Distribution centers healthcare business, in excess of $100 M dollars.
  • Support US Foods goals to achieve new sales growth, penetrate existing business, strengthen and protect customer relationships. Develop operating business plan, report monthly and analyze sales for continued growth of targeted accounts;
  • Develop annual sales plan for defined targeted accounts in collaboration with National Field Manager and Sr. Business Solutions Specialist;
  • Assist in the creation and development of future solutions-based services and programs in order to sustain industry leadership in the area of cost containment, emerging healthcare trends and revenue enhancement;
  • Implement and develop strategies utilizing Business/Menu Solutions tools to grow US Foods sales and maximize customer savings;
  • Provide training to field sales organization as appropriate. Lead customer presentations utilizing the library of educational decks;
  • Support local distribution centers in the development and execution of business/menu solutions sales strategies for targeted customers;
  • Build or deepen customer relationships at the foodservice director and c-suite levels with our customers;
  • Work collaboratively to support the Senior Specialists in coordinating local and regional IDN Supply Chain Management projects. These types of projects involve management of key healthcare executive relationships and implementation of facility level financial analysis of the food and nutrition department;
  • Document appropriately all engagements;
  • Achieve customer savings and customer engagement goals;
  • Develop and coordinate ongoing communications within US Foods’ GPO customers and all external customers. Participate in implementation in key GPO regional and national meetings as needed. Strong written, verbal and electronic communications are essential with all parties;
  • Assist with customer business reviews and protect relationships with accounts considered to be at risk;
  • Utilize a consulting approach in the areas of contract maximization, financial performance and operational challenges;
  • Actively assist distribution centers personnel in achieving yearly sales and EBITDA goals for the targeted accounts, targeted sales growth by distribution center and new business opportunities;


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Training:


  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred


Related Experience:


  • Contract management, multi-unit-facility and sales experience preferred
  • A minimum of (5) five years’ work experience in foodservice industry required (with emphasis in healthcare industry preferred)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Must be able to demonstrate previous successful sales or cost management result
  • Solid presentation skills at the C-suite level (CEO, etc.)
  • Project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and communication skills are required
  • Ability to sell and influence with no formal authority
  • Proficient in the area of financial analysis
  • Must have analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels and act as a consensus builder within a team selling structure
  • Ability to utilize strategic thinking and develop action plans to support the strategy


Technical skills:


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and Word), USF Reporting tools (internal candidates only) and some experience with Access
  • Should be able to demonstrate literacy in software and hardware applications


Travel:


  • Must be able to travel 50%-75% and live near a major airport
