Job Description
SELLING BUSINESS MANAGER
The Selling Business Manager is responsible for independently supervising and developing the selling associate in their area with the knowledge and skills needed for Dillard's 5 Star Selling & Service Model. Delivering the Annual Sales Plan, inclusive of personal and departmental goals. Lead the selling associates by example and instruction, regarding effective customer engagement and best sales practices.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, assigning associates their day to day tasks and directing their work relative to sales techniques, maintaining visual presentation standards, product promotions, special events etc., scheduling associates, resolving associate and customer questions and concerns, performing periodic associate performance reviews and evaluations, recommending and administering discipline up to and including discharge in coordination with the Store Manager, recruiting, developing, and retaining quality associates and contributing to frequent Touch Base evaluations with associates.
To develop a strong partnership with representatives. To develop a strong partnership with all associates to insure a high skill level of No Boundaries Selling. Maintain corporate visual presentation standards. Develop a strong clientele base through C@D with self, as well as all associates. Execute corporate promotions and events, and weekly events at the local level. Promote within Dillard's and through outside events.
Core Management Responsibilities:
To participate in the selection of a high-performance team. To maintain a high-performance team through educating, coaching, motivating, and appraising performance. To set, communicate, and monitor your team's productivity and service goals, monitor associate productivity and service levels, and provide on-going feedback. To manage the team's schedule within budgeted hours and based on business needs. To assign sales support associates day-to-day tasks and direct their work. To exercise independent judgment in the hiring, promoting, assignment, and compensation of your team, and in conjunction with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to effectively recommend such action. To recommend and administer discipline up to and including discharge, in coordination with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
Responsibilities also include serving as your team's leader by modeling and instructing all sales support functions and achieving the highest levels of service indicators.

Selling Goals
As a Selling Business Manager you are expected to lead by example in all aspects of your role. You will be expected to contribute to the overall success of the workcenter sales with your personal sales.
Personal selling goals are a guideline to aid in your personal and total team success.
Meeting your personal selling goals can result in higher compensation. Please refer to your Store Manager for your specific compensation package as a selling business manager.
80% of your time should be selling. 20% should be non-selling tasks and responsibilities.
As the manager, you will need to balance your personal selling and coaching selling opportunities with your sales associates.
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Ability to build positive and productive relationships—with clients, management and team.
Exhibits sound business judgment and agility.
Demonstrates leadership ability; proven ability to manage, develop and motivate others while driving company objectives.
Prior selling, customer service and leadership experience required.
Superior time management skills.
Highly motivated and results orientated.
High attention to detail and organizational ability.
Computer savvy.
Physical Demands
Regular attendance is required with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to stand for lengthy and continuous periods totaling up to 8 hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to stock and retrieve merchandise.
Requires ability to operate a computer terminal, as well as grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, hearing, speaking, and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of interacting with employees and customers.
Vision occurs continuously in the process of merchandising, and interaction with customers.
Requires manual dexterity to perform product demonstrations with customers.
Requires a level of personal hygiene conducive to close personal contact with customers.
