Position Summary:

The Business Intelligence Developer for Revenue Cycle is responsible and proficient in the review and improvements of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle. This includes the monitoring of Revenue Cycle systems, development of reports and data sets, analyzing trends and opportunities, identify root causes and proficient in recommending design improvements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provides strong input into the release timeframe, available resources and fulfills obligations outlined in project plans to deliver a defined release package.
  • Coordinates with Revenue Cycle staff to provide requirements to ensure necessary infrastructure and desktop configurations to run end-user tools.
  • Contributes to and supports the organization’s short and long term Business Intelligence strategy.
  • Develops, implements and maintains test strategies and plans.
  • Translates project requirements into functional and technical specifications for BI reports, dashboards and analytical applications.
  • Designs and implements reporting applications including, but not limited to, BI dashboards, reporting cubes and batch reports.
  • Assists in managing dependencies and identifying efficiencies to package project deliverables into viable business capabilities/releases.
  • Works with project lead, business users and analysts to gather requirements, conduct design sessions and prepare specifications.
  • Works with end users on specific questions regarding appropriate use of the BI tools and data.
  • Works closely with the Systems Administrator to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provides production support for Business Intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or information technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Rules Engines
  • Report design and delivery
  • Dashboards, metrics, analytics, and objects
  • Monitoring tool usage statistics
  • Evaluating, implementing, and deploying self-service BI tools
  • Demonstrated experience in creation and maintenance of Business Intelligence (BI) tool suites, including:
    • Functional and technical knowledge of supported enterprise data delivery tools
    • Evaluating, implementing, and deploying self-service BI tools
    • Report design and delivery
    • Dashboards, metrics, analytics, and objects
    • Rules Engines
    • Testing and implementing tool upgrades
    • Monitoring tool usage statistics
  • Five years of experience in Information Technology of which three years' experience working as BI developer in a large data warehouse and business intelligence environment.
  • Testing and implementing tool upgrades
  • Three years of experience writing and tuning advance SQL.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of supported enterprise data delivery tools
  • Three years of experience working with BI technologies such as Business Objects, Power BI, and Tableau.

Preferred:

  • Two years’ experience in hospital financial services or patient service.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10
  • Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI)
  • Proficient in Cerner CCL programming language
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
    • Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI)
