Basic Purpose

Provide actionable business intelligence in consultation with Savings Products leadership and team for use in daily and strategic decision making. Leverage data science and advanced analytic techniques to drive forward data driven pricing recommendations. Conduct analytical studies and identify insights to influence member behavior. Lead analytic projects from inception through implementation. Considered a key stakeholder/key contributor on highly complex initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management to establish objectives, standards, and strategies for delivering updates and changes to reporting and analytical procedures
  • Lead report/dashboard automation
  • Recognize potential issues and risks during the analytics project implementation and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Point of contact between the data analyst/data engineer and the project/functional analytics leads
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Compile, research and analyze trends in support of projects and initiatives
  • Examine data from multiple sources and share insights with leadership and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics, measurements, methods and targets
  • Prepare project deliverables that are valued by the business and present them in such a manner that they are easily understood by project stakeholders
  • Provide analytics insights and solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Analyze and evaluate competitor data and industry trends to understand current business unit competitive posture
  • Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff
  • Use data warehousing/business intelligence tool sets to gather, store, and provide access to data in assist management decision making
  • Design and document dashboards and reports
  • Identify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards and results
  • Leverage a broad set of modern technologies – including SQL, Python, and Power BI – to analyze and gain insights within large data sets
  • Transform data presented in charts and tables into a format that is useful to the business and aids in effective decision making

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Expert skill in using BI tools – Power BI, Tableau
  • Expert skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Expert skill in SQL and querying
  • Expert research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience
  • Expert skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely
  • Expert skill interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of information
  • Expert skill in Data Management, Data Validation & Cleansing and Information Analysis
  • Expert skill resolving conflicting requests and meeting changing requirements
  • Advanced word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Extensive experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
  • Advanced presentation software skills
  • Familiar with Data Integration, Data Governance and Data Warehousing
  • Familiar with the concepts and application of data mapping and building requirements
  • Experience in market/consumer research, project management, and analysis in support of strategic planning initiatives

Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Working knowledge of object oriented principles and cloud based analytics
  • Familiar with the use of standard ETL tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies such as: Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Hadoop, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, AWS, Google Cloud
  • Experience in the application of statistical methods, mathematical techniques, cost-benefit analysis and related analytical tools

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $74,400 - $127,200 annually
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
