Business Development Specialist - Part-Time

Description
NextUp’s Business Development Specialist is a professional who loves to meet new people and cultivate relationships. This person will contact targeted tech and training decision-makers, understand their challenges, and introduce NextUp’s capabilities into the context of these challenges. Once the BD Specialist discerns if and how NextUp can help each organization, they will determine the next step toward closing an Agile training or coaching engagement.
This role will report to the VP of Agile Operations and Client Engagement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the perseverance and tenacity to achieve positive results. Success in this role will be measured by activity (such as calls made and meetings booked) and results (training revenue growth).
Compensation

• Starting pay is $24/hour, plus results-based bonus

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly team meetings to identify and report on leads
• Adapt BD approaches based on responses to outreach
• Overcome objections without becoming discouraged
• Set appointments with our Agile experts to meet with qualified leads
• Communicate our products persuasively and successfully
• Make outbound calls
• Draft and send outbound emails
• Develop approach for each business development target
• Enter all relevant data into our CRM (HubSpot) accurately
• Qualify new and existing leads
• Accurately maintain, clean, and add to our HubSpot database

Requirements

• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Located in Northern Virginia area is a plus; other US Eastern time zone locations will also be considered
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship or restriction
• Ability to travel occasionally
• Meet certain key success metrics (calls made, appointments set, new leads added to our list, etc.)
• Prior business development or related experience desired
• Experience with HubSpot preferred
• Seeking part-time employment at 20-25 hours per week with availability during regular business hours
• Must have a laptop or computer and internet access, smartphone
• Optimistic outlook – must be able to stay positive while handling monotony, rejection, disinterest, and being sent to voicemail often
