Job Description
The School of Dentistryis one of seven professional schools at theUniversity of Maryland, Baltimore(UMB), an urban health, law, and human services campus. The University of Maryland School of Dentistry has an exciting opportunity for aBusiness Application ITAnalyst to work on our clinical management system. *The selected candidate will work within our Applications Group supporting our clinical and educational environment. Knowledge of health care systems and financials is desirable but not required. The selected candidate is expected to be a quick learner with good communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once is essential. Knowledge in applications, such as financials, electronic patient records, learning management, are helpful. Ability to work in a team environment is essential. This is a team environment so the ability to work as a team member is a must. Knowledge of dentistry is a plus. This may require modifying functional specifications for enhancements or customizations to the base application and/or system. * Identifies and assists in the development of future business process changes. Applies knowledge of management systems application to organization-specific needs and processes; assists in modifying functional designs to enhance function. * Ensure consistency and quality of data with responsibility for testing, training, problem resolution and end user-support. * Provide hands on support as needed in the functional areas supported by the management systems. Examples of such support could include procurement; effort reporting/distribution and other financial support activities. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education:Abachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, and/or degree related to application. Experience: *Three (3) years of experience in use and analysis of e-management systems or related to application *Other: *May consider a combination of directly related experience and education. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES * Knowledge of position requirements. * Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. * Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. * Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. * Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. * Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well-being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery.
