Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize the effectiveness of CarePartners of Connecticut external partners including but not limited to brokers, FMO’s, Exchanges and E-Brokers. The incumbent provides leadership, oversight, and management consultation on the design, development, and implementation of communication and marketing initiatives, programs, technologies, and processes designed to increase broker effectiveness.

Broker Management/Strategy:
  • Manage Book of Business, accountable for deep dive analysis to identify positive and negative trends on an on-going basis.
  • Supports data quality of broker data base information
  • Assesses broker and client needs and translates them into effective solutions
  • Acts as the lead for broker events planning and management including broker advisory councils, information meetings and other outings/activities
  • Develops and implements broker relationship management, communication, and training strategies, working directly with brokers and the internal sales and marketing team. Develops and implements annual broker outreach plan aligning with key initiatives for example AEP and OEP etc.
  • Accountable for coordinating with other departments to address trends that impact sales.
  • Troubleshoots issues and provides direct support to brokers as needed.
  • Develops broker engagement strategies for broker related activities and initiatives
Broker Technology:
Acts as liaison for all phases of portal functionality sales cycle including:
  • Provide training on portal and other technologies
  • Participates in the development and execution of web functionality sales and marketing strategies, including development of annual sales goals, market segment strategies, and producing sales/marketing materials
  • Responsible for and leads technology implementations (with support from internal resources) including broker site visits, facilitation of meetings and training sessions, presentation of functionality, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support/training
  • Conducting post-implementation assessment and follow-up
  • Liaison with Support and Service team on technical issues
Prospecting, Projects, and other Sales Support Activities:
  • Manages sales prospecting process, advising sales management on increasing prospecting effectiveness
  • Leads and/or participates in special projects as assigned, such as broker satisfaction surveys, coordination of sales internal/external events and some training efforts
  • Presentations to internal departments and stakeholders as needed
  • Manages direct mail campaigns and occasional temporary support staff needed for campaign outreach
  • Monitoring and tracking of prospecting, lead generation, and sales activities
  • Responsible for broker/customer gift & give-away selections, ordering and related budget dollars
  • Interaction with broker service and support staff to ensure specific broker needs and sensitivities are considered and addressed
  • Interaction with sales/marketing staff to determine data tracking and reporting needs, and identify solutions to meet these needs

Education, Certification and Licensure
  • BS/BA required
Experience (minimum years required):
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills, oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing business solutions, project support, some sales experience highly desirable
  • Must be able to work independently and in small work groups in which staff members and managers have similar or disparate interests and/or priorities
  • Must be well versed in insurance, employee benefits, marketplace issues and all Tufts HP products to function in a consultative role to sales leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and spreadsheet
  • 7+ years of experience in related field

  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diversity of individuals from numerous clients, internal departments, and different levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, while consistently keeping accurate documentation
  • Capability to evaluate risk in context of objectives
  • Adept in the development, maintenance and execution of implementation timelines and plans
  • Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member and regularly interface with various levels of Tufts leadership, staff, and customers and outside vendors
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as training, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Position requires a high level of problem-solving ability, initiative and judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to foster positive customer service relationships to facilitate sales/business development
  • Must be able to work autonomously and able to make sound/reasonable judgments, within defined area of responsibility
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):
  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
