Brand Manager, Mickey Thompson

Department: Marketing

Responsible to: General Manager, Mickey Thompson Marketing


Job Summary

This position is located in Stow, Ohio for Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels


Leads all brand marketing strategy including managing all external communication and marketing partnerships, driving deep understanding of consumer segmentation, and working cross-functionally to develop and execute go-to-market strategies. Develops and executes creative development, media strategy, event and sponsorship activation, and digital media strategy. This position will eventually manage a direct report and will be responsible for managing several marketing and PR agencies to ensure seamless campaign execution and consistent consumer facing communication.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the development of marketing strategies and initiative plans based on how consumers make decisions and serving consumer needs to identify growth opportunities across all elements of the marketing mix including online and offline advertising, public relations, consumer promotions, events, and educational tools.

  • Facilitating the coordination of all marketing aspects from strategic development through execution and measurement of integrated marketing/promotion plans.

  • Collaborate across internal functional teams and external agencies to lead and oversee the development and execution of marketing plans that ensure consistent brand experience throughout the consumer journey.

  • Set objectives and KPIs for the annual business planning process, including identification of consumer and market opportunities, assessment, and development of strategies and tactics.

  • Creatively identify opportunity areas for growth by effectively using consumption data, market research and competitive intelligence.

  • Travels to consumer events, motorsports events and tradeshows to ensure through understanding of consumer needs and ensure proper event activation.


Key Results:


  • Oversight of multiple agencies and 1 direct report
  • Annual planning and budget management
  • Cross functional multi-channel campaign development and execution
  • Creates strategy and activation plan for events, coordinating execution with the motorsports group
  • Brand partnerships and sponsorship oversight, engagement, and activation
  • Travels to consumer events, motorsports events and tradeshows to ensure thorough understanding of consumer needs and ensure proper event activation
  • Own Brand visual identity and standards
  • Digital and social media content creation, distribution plan, and execution


Education and Experience:


  • Must have experience leading the execution of marketing plans, managing budgets, and managing agency relationships
  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing or related field
  • Experience in performance aftermarket marketing role
  • Prior experience managing others or leading a team is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing/product management experience


Interpersonal, Problem Solving, or other Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience with various social media platforms and digital marketing tactics
  • Driven and passionate about marketing strategy and performance measurement
  • Excellent verbal & written communications, organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of creative/advertising programs and MS Office products required
  • Enthusiastic, curious, collaborative, team-player, relationship builder
  • Agile and a master of detail
