Summary Description:


The Brand Manager is responsible for the business plans & strategy management of the O’Keeffe’s brand, which is a strategic part of the Gorilla Brands portfolio. This role would manage the O’Keeffe’s business in the hand, foot, and lip care segments of the Personal Care category. This includes all aspects of running the daily business and the innovation portfolio for the U.S. and Canadian markets across Food, Drug, Mass, Club, Dollar and Hardware channels. Specifically, the Brand Manager is responsible for developing and managing a variety of critical brand building activities to increase brand & variant awareness, deliver innovation to consumers, and support key retailer strategies & executions. In addition, the Brand Manager is involved in the analysis, identification, and recommendation to expand the brand into new segments of the category.

  • Strategic: Can distill brand priorities into simple frameworks that drive behavior for a broad set of brand stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, and R&D.
  • Collaborates: Can collaborate across levels and departments to bring vision to life.
  • National and Channel Retailer Support – Manage, distill and support retailer and channel specific growth plans to grow the brand and track results. Leverage retailer relationships to drive P&L improvement deliverables (mix, pricing, etc.)
  • Marketing Mastery: Vast experience developing brand marketing plans (media plans, non-media support, like social, PR, digital content). Can manage large and complex budgets associated with expansive media plans.
  • Innovation: Can connect brand strategies to innovation plans, including partnering with R&D on innovation master-planning.
  • Grows Capability: Can develop marketing mastery in the brand teams – a track record of coaching and training individuals into strong brand marketers.
  • Strategic Revenue Management: Engage in and support annual brand plan to include short- and long-term objectives, strategic initiatives and tactical actions, product line architecture, SKU mix, annual revenue, spending budgets, pricing and consumer promotions. Makes periodic adjustments to the plan as market demands. Experience in managing commercial innovation in partnership with the sales team to manage pricing strategy, revenue growth, and overall brand growth.
  • Analytical/Integrates Knowledge: Can connect data points from diverse sets of information to form a clear story that drives actionable insights to move the brands forward.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute commercial elements of initiatives, aligning cross-functional partners and management through each stage gate.
  • Lead package design strategy & briefing.
  • Finalize consumer proposition (concept & claims).
  • Identify upside opportunities & recommendations.
  • Lead New Product Innovation planning for 3-5 year masterplan.
  • Lead baseplan definition phase for initiatives included on initiative master plan – lead cross functional team including R&D, Finance, Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Work with cross-functional team to develop learning plans
  • Develop launch plans and launch marketing plan recommendations that deliver against the initiative and brand objectives.
  • Evaluate pricing strategies.
  • Identify risk or weak areas of the business and proactively put in place plans to address.
  • Collaborate with Sales team to develop sales deck(s) for each major retailer as needed.
  • Set strategy for growth and manage day-to-day risks & opportunities.
  • Lead ideation processes
  • Assess business opportunities
  • Develop media objectives and strategies for the pillars that fit overall brand strategies.
  • Involvement in identifying new segment entry opportunities for the brand – including analysis, landscape assessment, consumer targeting and launch strategy options.
  • Develop consumer concept options
  • Lead creative executions for the pillars, from brief to production support.
  • Lead Current Business for O’Keeffe’s Hand, Foot & Lip Care.


Qualifications


Education:


  • BS Required: Major in Business, Marketing preferred.
  • 4-7 years marketing experience.


Specific Skills:


  • Nielsen/IRI analysis experience preferred.
  • Travel Required: 10-15%
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented approach with a willingness to bust through barriers and dive in at the detail level as needed.
  • Retail experience within food, drug, mass merchandising distribution channels - personal care category experience a plus.
  • Strong collaborator across multiple functions & levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects that vary in nature from strategic through execution.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including abilities to envision, enroll, energize and execute.


Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
