Job Description
Now Brewing – brand manager I, NACP! #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
As a brand manager on the Starbucks North American Coffee Partnership (ready-to-drink coffee), you will . . .
Craft, hone, and steward our most iconic Starbucks brands found in retail outlets across the country. This role will focus on our ready-to-drink Pink Drink and Paradise Drink, as well the nation’s number one ready-to-drink coffee beverage, Frappuccino. You will have the keys to these storied brands, taking our best-in-class products to market and bringing them to life as you amplify the Starbucks brand outside of our stores. Joining the NACP comes with the prized benefit of representing the world’s premier coffee brand while learning from our JV partner, PepsiCo.
Here’s what our team does and how your role will play a part:
We Build Brands Through
Defining our brands’ heart and soul
  • You will own the narrative for your brands – what should a customer think and feel when they hear the name, see the bottle, drink the beverage? You will also help paint the vision for your brand’s future and maintain its integrity in service to our customers and our business.
Deeply understanding our customers
  • Our brands uplift the everyday best when they resonate with our customers. Your role will involve keeping a pulse on our customers to truly understand who they are – what do they value, what do they do, what makes them worry? Developing this empathy with our customers through insights and research work translates into brands that matter most.
Developing world-class campaigns and sensory identity
  • To accompany our products, we bring brands to life through groundbreaking marketing campaigns. We work with agencies to build media plans and creative assets for all channels – from social media and online video to digital audio and newsletters. We also define the visual identify of our brands – from packaging graphics to in-store displays down the aisle.
Representing our brands to the NACP organization
  • As brand owners, we touch all teams in the NACP and are often looked to for decisions and guidance on building the business profitably. This means developing perspectives on our sales performance, influencing supply decisions, and preparing leadership to speak to our brands to key stakeholders.
Getting our hands dirty
  • We’re team players and take on responsibilities to maintain our brands’ health: for example, making sure our customer-facing packaging is compliant, taking LTO products through the commercialization lifecycle, and facilitating tough go-to-market decisions.
We’d Love To Hear From People With
  • A passion for building brands rooted in customer empathy
  • Progressive experience in product or brand management, 5-7 years
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Experience developing and executing on best-in-class marketing communication strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function effectively with ambiguity
  • Ability and experience with strategic thinking and development
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to leverage data and insights to inform actions that will develop a brand
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and to collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
