Biostatistician II - Mind Center
Job Summary:
Performs basic, intermediate and some advanced statistical analysis and programming for laboratory, clinical and population research projects, with guidance and support. Assists lead statisticians in their work on research projects.
Education & Experience
Master's Degree in Statistics, Bio-statistics, or directly related field plus two (2) years of related experience to include two (2) years of experience using Data Analysis Platforms such as STATA, SAS, and/or R. No other equivalents.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experimental or study design, multiple regression, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, logistic regression, categorical data analysis, clinical trials methodology, Bayesian methods.
Responsibilities
  • With appropriate guidance, design data analysis set specifications. Write statistical analysis code, finding and correcting errors and validating output and results. Serves in a supporting role for research projects, with consultation or assistance as needed. Demonstrates understanding of how related tasks contribute to the role of the statistics team on the project. Attends team meetings when appropriate and participates in the statistical team responsible for designing and validating analysis data sets, programs, and statistical output products.
  • Provides input to assist in the development of standard operational procedures for the collection, editing, verification, and management of statistical data. Demonstrated understanding of research project data collection processes and data sets, and shares knowledge with collaborators.
  • Provides oral presentations of statistical or technical scientific information to inform and report on the progress of research studies and prepares written reports.
  • With appropriate guidance, calculates samples sizes, power calculations, and interim stopping guidelines, with guidance. Provides review and approval of data collection tools, data correction criteria and procedures, identification of critical data fields, and endpoint collection documents.
  • Provides assistance to lower level or less experienced employees engaged in the collection, analysis, and translation.

  • With appropriate guidance, provides appropriate statistical input in the design, execution, and analysis of scientifically conducted studies and prepares statistical analysis plans.   • Assist with teaching courses as requested by center faculty.
