Job Overview


The Behavioral Health Clinician NC is responsible for direct patient care and safety including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for children, adolescents and their families in partial hospitalization programs.

This position will provide evaluation and therapeutic services to patients in the Outpatient department.

Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Mon-Fri 8-7 (Shift will vary on the department needs)

Qualifications

  • LICENSURE: Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado
  • CERTIFICATION(S): Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification
  • EDUCATION: Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field.
  • EXPERIENCE: 2 years in a mental health setting/agency

Responsibilities


POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

  • School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
  • Infancy - >30 days to 1yr
  • Neonate - <30 days
  • Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs
  • Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
  • Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform. While awaiting the credentialing process, the activities below are supervised by a licensed professional.


  • Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeutic groups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintains communication with unit or department leadership.
  • Completes diagnostic behavioral health assessments for treatment or crisis intervention. Compiles and analyzes data and prepares case records, reports, and documents that comply with state and federal standards in providing case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations.
  • Participates in unit committees and educational offerings; complies with all policies and procedures related to the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and the hospital; and provides customer service as related to the Mental Health field.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and unit safety and serves as a liaison with multi-disciplinary care teams and external community agencies to identify, implement, and monitor treatment goals. Presents case presentations and provides consultation to medical teams and callers.
  • Provides crisis intervention to families and provides interventions with families to support discharge to home and stabilization. Also develops a therapeutic relationship with patients and families to assist with psychological problems.
  • Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health Clinicians
  • Coordinates admissions to programs within the Pediatric Mental Health Institute or community programs and coordinates treatment with internal and external services.
  • Provides direct patient care and management of children and adolescents by developing and implementing treatment and intervention plans and conducting needs assessment to gather patient information.

  • COMPLEXITY: Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $52,922.81 to $79,384.22
Hourly Salary Range: $25.44 to $38.17
