Are you looking for a role that combines a passion for research, innovation, and customer experience? Do you have a desire to use your expertise in science to make a difference in the lives of millions of people? The Voya Behavioral Finance Institute for Innovation is looking for a leader of Behavioral Finance Research to conduct qualitative and quantitative research in partnership with both external academics and internal teams focused on improving outcomes for our customers. Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.

The Contributions You’ll Make:
  • Conduct outcome analysis to demonstrate value of research
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in behavioral science research
  • Analyze complex data sets and conduct statistical analysis to support research
  • Conduct experience audits to provide actionable be-fi based recommendations for team to test and deploy
  • Create both commercial white papers and working papers (in partnership with external academic teams where applicable)
  • Develop innovative behavioral finance (be-fi) research ideas focused on improving customer outcomes across all workplace experiences ( Health benefits and wealth/retirement)
  • Mentor team members and develop their knowledge and application of behavioral research techniques.
  • Serve as a strategic partner for the organization to help guide desired customer outcomes
  • Develop partnerships with external academics including formation and management of academic grant proposals and review process
  • Design and execute both lab studies and field experiments (RCTs) in collaboration with academic partners and internal experimentation team.
  • Provide be-fi consultation for teams delivering customer experiences across the organization
  • Champion application of be-fi principles across all touch points and at all levels of the firm
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform research agenda and distribute findings via written reports and science briefs to customer experience teams and leadership.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
  • Ability to source data for analysis and create data visualizations (SQL/Tableau)
  • Proven track record of design, execution, and synthesis of research into actionable insights that drive behavior change and tangible customer/business results.
  • Strong analytical skills including statistical modelling (expert at usage of statistics software such as Stata or R)
  • Masters or PhD in behavioral finance, decision science, or a related discipline
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and timelines across a variety of initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
  • Prior Financial services and/or Health benefits, or healthcare research experience preferred
  • Relevant corporate experience working in an applied behavioral finance role a plus

Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
$156,900 - $196,120 USD
