Role Summary:


As a data driven organization, Gesa’s AVP of Data Integrity & Business Intelligence shall lead and handle organization wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for ensuring the quality and integrity of the credit union’s data and business intelligence systems. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework, maintaining metadata and developing forward thinking business intelligence solutions and processes to meet the needs of individual credit union collaborators, allowing them to make quality, data driven decisions.


What You Will Be Doing:


  • Work closely with QA assigned department leads on handling and maintaining report audit schedules.
  • Lead and/or assist with various data validation, balancing and/or business intelligence projects. Work with IT if any report needs to be automated or needs to perform any core actions.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
  • Maintain open communication and promote teamwork with all personnel.
  • Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by Management. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Create and implement policies for effective data management.
  • Be responsible for and advise the data integrity, reporting and business intelligence team.
  • Perform evaluations of the Credit Union’s data and business intelligence quality control systems and report findings and recommendations.
  • Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
  • Assist with the credit unions annual budgeting and forecasting processes along with other major Risk & Performance Team initiatives as assigned.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and business intelligence, ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of all credit union products and services, as well as the activities of departments.
  • Routinely advise the Management Team concerning key issues affecting the accuracy of operational systems, progress of review activities, as well as concerns.
  • Perform evaluations of the Credit Union’s quality control systems and report findings and recommendations.
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the governance of data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, and processes.
  • Maintain and protect all critical data applying the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge.
  • Develop & maintain business intelligence solutions and capabilities that support the needs of a diverse group of credit union collaborators. Also, develop a process to maintain the metadata for all the data sources being used for business intelligence.
  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for the development of business intelligence-based capabilities.

Qualifications


What You Will Need:


  • Ability to interpret, validate, and balance large amounts of financial data with relative ease.
  • Basic understanding of profitability, costing, accounting procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations required. Prior experience performing quality control reviews in a credit union or similar sector desired.
  • Five to Eight years of similar or related experience; financial institution environment experience preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with business intelligence tools and large scale data management.
  • Ability to work with audit management software for the purpose of planning and scheduling audits, as well as, supervising status of findings issued as a result of the audits.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment, word processing and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including the use of lookup functions, pivot tables, macros, etc.
  • Four year degree in Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Data Analysis, Statistics; or equivalent training, coursework, and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Salary Range:


$135,768.77-$203,653.16
