Job Overview:

As an Automotive Service Porter with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will be assisting Technicians and Service Advisors in locating and relocating vehicles so that they can keep our work flowing. You play a big part in keeping the shop clean and maintained and always moving.

The Service Porter is responsible for performing various duties as they relate to the operation of a Service Department. This position interacts daily with Customers, Technicians, Service Managers, Service Associates, and more. Ultimately, a top-notch car porter can be entrusted with valuable property and building key relationships with the community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for occasionally test-driving vehicles
• Occasionally providing safe shuttle service for our valued guests
• Desire to learn automotive repair service terminology and processes
• Responsible for all facilities' housekeeping duties for the lobby, bathrooms, and shop. Including but not limited to; cleaning, straightening, sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, and organizing
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Driving vehicles to the front after the transaction is complete. Stay tuned in when a customer is checking out and assist the Advisors/Writers and get the car delivered to the front door with AC on and the car running
• Accounting for all cars on the lot
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the parking lot, including picking up debris and trash
• Other duties as assigned
• Greet every customer that enters our facility with hospitality and respect
• Driving off-site to run errands. Including picking up / returning parts and cores and other miscellaneous errands as needed
• Treating our guests with the utmost respect under all circumstances and with a heart consistent with Christian Brothers
• Moving newly arrived vehicles, in progress as well as finished vehicles, around our parking lot in an organized manner
• Assist other team members as needed with clerical tasks such as accounts receivable and filing paperwork

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Driving record acceptable to our current insurance carrier
• Current driver’s licenses
• Ability to take accurate notes regarding vehicle movements and vehicle conditions
• Willingness to learn and to perform a wide range of allocated tasks

Physical Requirements:

• Experience in customer service and service sales is helpful but not required
• Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
• Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications
• Ability to stand on your feet and walk around the lot most of the day
