Pay: $66,000-$96,000


Parts Managers are responsible for inventory management and control for businesses that use or sell replacement parts, including car dealerships, construction companies and service centers. They work with suppliers to source necessary parts. The Parts Manager serves as the head of the parts department, which means all staff in that department report to them. This might include parts associates and parts drivers. Parts Managers hire and train staff members as well as provide day-to-day supervision and discipline. The Parts Manager also collaborates with other departments within the dealership or organization.


Essential Duties


  • Develop procedures in conjunction with the Service Manager that ensures a smooth flow of parts to Service Technicians during jobs.
  • Ensure service department contributes an acceptable level of gross net profit.
  • Ensure service personnel are alert, well trained, and available when needed.
  • Ensure employees keep a clean, efficient, and orderly department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Maximize productivity levels of parts advisors.
  • Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly and recommend the needed parts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment
  • Leadership skills to keep the parts department running smoothly
  • Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and estimates
  • Occasionally assist parts advisor.
  • Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Provide prompt, dependable, high-quality service to (internal & external) customers.
  • Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for parts management.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues


Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
