Automotive Interior Designer Jobs

BYD Design is looking for a Jr. Interior Designer for our studio in Pasadena that will:

• Portfolios with samples of interior design are required for consideration.
• Research and analyze trends, materials and products and utilize them to create innovative solutions for future interior design.
• Work with Engineering and marketing departments for further product development.
• Present polished proposals with high quality 3D renderings and/or animation.
• Create compelling ideas based on existing brands identities, and to further develop such identities.
• Oversee CAS and clay development of production and/or concept vehicles.
• Travel to Shenzhen Headquarters for future project development.
• Develop proposals by translating 2D into 3D based on engineering packages.

Skills and Qualifications

• Automotive interior design experience.
• Shenzhen, China: Open to possibilities of business travel to Shenzhen, China.
• Excellent visual and oral communication skills.
• Fluent English communication skills
• Excellent abilities in Communicating with various engineering departments in the production development process.
• Show reliable, dependable and professional team work spirit.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive or Transportation Design.
• Travel to Shenzhen, China to oversee development by working with headquarters’ Design and Engineering team.
• Demonstrate an ability to deliver successful designs under tight timing constraints.
