Sumer Innovations is a new building design startup that operates on its own online business platform and utilizes the latest advancements in building design technologies to provide superior services for its clients. Sumer Innovations' ultimate purpose is to create a sustainable construction industry through the collaboration of building design professionals and technological advancement.

We are connecting engineers, architects, and scientists, to provide efficient building design services, and we are looking for Architectural Designers to join our network and assist our clients.

Before spending time on reading job details and requirements, we want to emphasize that this is not a full-time and a regular salaried position, and you will not be an employee of Sumer Innovations. You will be a consultant providing services for Sumer Innovations and its clients. This is a perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs, small business owners, self-emplyed professionals and independent contractors.

Job description:

The job responsibilities of an architectural designer can include:

  • Conducting site visits and inspections: The designer may visit the building site to ensure that the design is being implemented according to plan and to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Creating detailed drawings and models: The designer uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and 3D models of the building or structure, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Communicating with clients: The designer communicates regularly with the client to update them on the design process and to ensure that their needs and preferences are being met.
  • Developing design concepts and plans: The architectural designer works closely with the client to understand their needs and preferences, and then develops design concepts and plans that meet those requirements.
  • Collaborating with other design professionals: The designer works closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure that the design meets all technical requirements and is feasible to build.

To be successful in this role, an architectural designer must have strong design skills, proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of building codes and regulations, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. They must also have an eye for detail and be able to work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications for an architectural designer typically include a bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field, as well as experience working in a design firm or architecture practice. A portfolio of design work is also typically required.

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations: Candidates should have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations to ensure that their designs are compliant.
  • Bachelor's degree: requires a bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field. These programs typically take 4-5 years to complete and cover topics such as design theory, building systems and materials, construction methods, and architectural history.
  • Proficiency in CAD software: candidates should have experience working with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp, to create 2D and 3D models.
  • Attention to detail: Architectural designers must have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in their drawings and specifications.
  • Communication skills: Effective communication is important in this role to collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and other design professionals.

Experience:

  • Leadership skills: candidates should have leadership skills, as the role may involve managing teams of designers and collaborating with other design professionals.
  • Software proficiency: Experience using other design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite or 3D modeling software, may be beneficial in this role.
