Job Description

A 35 person public accounting firm headquartered in Delaware is looking to add audit associates to their team. This firm focuses on a variety of clients, including closely held businesses, construction, real estate, employee benefit plans, and healthcare organizations.


The organization is open to hiring people who are located on the east coast.


Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing audits, reviews, and compilations for a variety of small business and nonprofit entities. This includes single audits and pension plan audits.
  • They contribute to the team by handling challenges in a positive, professional manner, effectively managing the demands of deadlines, contributing new ideas, and mentoring staff accountants.
  • Preparation and planning for individual, corporate, partnership, trust/estate, and nonprofit tax returns and possibly some supervision
  • Successful team members are self-starters, who effectively and efficiently manage their workload in order to complete assigned tasks/engagements on a timely basis and within project scope and budget.
  • They have in-depth technical knowledge within their discipline and stay current on changes.


Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills in accounting work paper systems, and MS Office products
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with clients and other professionals
  • 1-3 years of public accounting experience
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
  • CPA certification or evidence of working towards certification
