Athletic Director Jobs

We are looking for a full-time Athletic Director! We are looking for someone with the experience and passion to oversee the management of athletic facilities, the athletic budget, transportation, and all contracts.

As an Athletic Director, you will:

Community

• Serve as the administrator on duty when Harvard-Westlake facilities are used by other schools
• Serve as the Athletic Department expert on league, CIF and national rules and regulations
• Serve as Athletic Department liaison to Computer Services and Education Technology Committee
• Coordinate use of athletic facilities for non-athletic events with the Maintenance Department
• Serve as the primary administrative contact for other high schools
• Coordinate athletic transportation needs with the Student Logistics Manager
• Serve as Harvard-Westlake representative to athletic clubs that use school facilities
• Serve as the Athletic Department representative to non-school organizations from which Harvard-Westlake rents facilities
• Attend all league and CIF meetings, as well as relevant meetings of other external athletic organizations

Administrative

• Manage the daily athletic transportation schedule
• Manage athletic eligibility paperwork
• Manage all necessary playoff paperwork
• Manage the maintenance of all athletic facilities, both on-campus and off-campus
• Manage all athletic equipment
• Secure practice and contest venues for all athletic teams
• Develop the plan for sideline/bench management during athletic contests
• Manage ticketing procedures and reporting for all regular season and playoff contests

Sport Administration

• Attend at least one game of every level of the program each season
• Organize the distribution of surveys for high school athletes at the end of the season
• Meet regularly with the Program Heads
• Ensure that all coaches within the program complete the necessary certifications
• Lead the search for a new Program Head and organize Meet the Coach Night
• Know the off-season training schedule of the program
• Know the key athletes at every level of the program
• Establish positive relationship with the parents in the program
• Regularly attend varsity games for the program
• Know the program’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats

Schedule: This is a full-time, 12-month, on-site position.

Compensation: Anticipated base compensation is $130,000- $150,000 depending on experience. The position will begin July 1, 2023.
