Job Description
Overview:
The Associate Release Train Engineer will be part of Cotiviti’s Innovation Portfolio Management (IPM) team and will support the management of critical projects within an Agile Release Train (ART) and across matrixed teams. Candidate must have experience in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Candidate must have understanding of best scrum and agile practices at the Team and Program levels, including being able to guide and coach Agile Teams on Cotiviti and SAFe processes and best practices. Longer term emphasis will be on supporting the RTE in program delivery and risk management (ART coordination) and portfolio management reporting needs for the IPM team. This role must be able to traverse between team and program level stakeholders effectively and professionally. The role of the Associate RTE is to provide ART coaching as needed and directed by the RTE, lead key ceremonies for the RTE when needed including being a key support for PI Planning, support the management of key reports for the IPM Teams, and support the RTE in managing risks, escalate impediments, confirm value delivery and assist in driving consistent improvement. Most importantly, the Associate RTE must assist the RTE to allow focus on key issues and initiatives and help connect stakeholders across the ART to help get questions answered, decisions made, problems solved, and ideas championed.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the RTE in facilitating PI Planning readiness, including driving alignment to key Cotiviti initiatives, working with the RTE on creation of key artifacts for PI events, and supporting the logistics such as managing the various meeting event calendar items and in-person meeting logistics
  • Able to observe process challenges / pain points and proactively suggest and develop improvements / solutions to the RTE
  • Support the RTE and IPM operational needs such as capitalization tracking/support, ART metrics, course correcting process, etc.
  • Support the facilitation of PI planning events
  • Support the RTE in coaching teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile & Cotiviti practices and mindsets
  • Assist tracking the execution of Program Objectives, features, and capabilities
  • Be an expert in Jira and Jira Align tooling to support the ART Teams, stakeholders, and the RTE and IPM Team for coaching on accurate use and reporting
  • Support the RTE and ART Scrum Masters in assessing, leading, and coaching teams to be self-organizing, and striving to be high performing teams
  • Help to coach & guide ART teams and stakeholders on SAFe and Cotiviti processes, artifact and tool usage and management, and intake for features
  • Support the RTE in working with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Work with the Innovation Portfolio Management team (IPM) on program execution and operational excellence
  • Support the RTE in the management and optimization of the flow of value through the ART by ensuring familiarity and use/purpose of various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators
  • Support, including at times leading, the management of multiple projects and resources across multiple time zones including offshore
  • Help manage risks and dependencies, escalate and track Program and Portfolio impediments
  • Support the RTE in driving relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assessing the agility level of the ART and ART Teams and help them improve

Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can translate messaging into high level business communications or technical documentation as needed
  • Experience in Scaled Agile Framework preferred.
  • Two years in software development or IT operations required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule around project deadlines and implementations, as necessary
  • Comfortable with public speaking & taking on a presenter/facilitator role to support training large groups in classroom or webinar settings
  • Able to quickly understand and apply new processes, tools, and technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Tactful diplomat able to work well with diverse personalities, cultures, and backgrounds
  • Strong leadership skills, results oriented, with the ability to be a successful team builder in a time critical environment
  • Experience with Agile project management / software development methodologies preferred
  • Able to flex and adapt in rapidly changing situations
  • Self-motivated and autonomous worker with bias for action and adaptation toward strategic goals
  • Takes initiative to digest and solve process and project challenges
  • One year in Agile Scrum framework required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in computer science, business or equivalent
  • One year in scrum master or project management role required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • Scaled Agile Certification Required:
  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) Preferred
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) *or equivalent
  • Professional Project Manager (PMP) Preferred
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Preferred
  • SAFe Agilist (SA)
  • Scrum Master Certification Required:

Base compensation ranges from $125,000to $135,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is based remotely and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
