YOU
As an Inside Sales Representative at Simpson Strong-Tie, you will be responsible for servicing the customer by handling all types of customer problems and requests as well as processing orders - usually by telephone. We are known for “no-equal” customer service, and so are you.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Answer incoming phone calls and provide customers with requested information (pricing, ship dates, freight estimates, etc.) while making sure the customer feels valued. (80%)
Input customer orders into order entry computer system. (10%)
Provide limited technical assistance to inquiries. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Accountability & Dependability: Ability to show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures. Ability to meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
  • Computer Skills: Score in the proficient range on typing assessment
  • Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Writing: Ability to generate messages that instigate appropriate actions.
  • 2 years related experience and/or training ideal.
  • Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity and basic understanding of product names. (Training in this area will be provided upon hire)
  • Speaking: Ability to use language that is appropriate to the audience, occasion, and purpose.
  • Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred.
  • Analysis/Reasoning: Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Columbus, OH.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$18- $26 / hour
