Associate Director- Project Management, Planning and Operations


This position is based in Foster City, CA (Hybrid)

The Associate Director, Project Management, position is within Global Commercial Operations (GCO), Project Management, Planning and Operations (PMPO) function and will support the organization in project management of early Commercialization Teams (eCTs), Commercialization Teams (CTs), and operational execution. The Commercialization Teams are responsible for providing commercialization strategy input and decisions in alignment with the overall program strategy.


The candidate will be focused on Gilead’s programs in the oncology therapeutic area (TA) and may include work in earlier programs across the Inflammation TA. The successful candidate will be dynamic, with excellent project management capabilities and track record, highly organized, with strong attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the proven ability to effectively manage large and complex projects and workstreams; effectively network across the organization and communicate with senior leaders, all within a very dynamic, fast paced environment.


Core Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans on key initiatives which include identification of project tasks, clear milestones, and assignments of work project responsibilities, schedules, plans, resources, budget, and status reports
  • Annual offsite and workshop meetings:
  • Serve as key process and thought partner to eCT and CT leaders, head of GCO Project Management lead
  • Partner with head of GCO Project Management to identify areas for process efficiency across eCTs, CTs, and overall teams system
  • Partner with head of GCO Project Management on Annual Planning team.
  • Ability to be on a computer, in front of camera for meetings w/ stakeholders, cross-functional team members when participating in hybrid or remote meetings
  • Project and process management of Gilead eCTs, CTs, Global Strategic Marketing teams, primarily in the oncology and inflammation therapeutic areas
  • Ability to operate computer software suite to complete tasks such as writing team communications, preparing meeting agendas, writing meeting minutes, updating/and or creation of timeline/Gantts, PowerPoint presentations, creating, maintain spreadsheets to track detail workplans, workshops/workstreams


Basic Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree and 10 Years’ Experience


OR


Masters' Degree and 8 Years’ Experience


OR


Pharm.D./Ph.D. and 2 Years’ Experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong project management skills, including attention to detail and organization skills
  • Highly resourceful and strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence and operational rigor
  • Demonstrated consistent cross-functional collaborator, and business partner, directly contributing to teams to achieve overall objectives
  • Experience driving large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research / analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success
  • Limited travel
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment
  • International work experience and experience working with global markets preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across functions; comfort in business and technical discussions with senior leadership. Able to influence without direct authority


The salary range for this position is: $185,895.00 - $240,570.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
