Description & Requirements
Role
The Associate Director- Product Supply & Formulations - Meat is responsible for developing the sourcing strategy and setting the agenda for annual bid events- supplier management- contract analysis for raw meat supply and best cost formula for meat formulations. This position supports a direct team on short and long-term sourcing strategies- leads department working capital initiatives- and assures progress against project timelines and results. The role is the key liaison with internal customers in the Business Units to drive meat supply performance targets. This person will balance and communicate trade-offs to S&OP- Marketing- R&D- Quality- Operations- and Procurement in support of meat supply and formulations. They will also focus on mentoring and advancement of department resources- process improvement- and delivering against departmental goals.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Review spends- contract- and market analysis for meat supply
  • Ensure adherence and compliance to procurement processes and policies
  • Provide vital inputs for supply agreements and supervise compliance
  • Deliver on challenging productivity and cash flow goals and create pipeline of projects
  • Ensure adherence to meat supplier performance targets
  • Communicate sourcing decisions to senior management and key partners
  • Handle meat inventory working capital
  • Responsible for 0–26-week meat supply assurance
  • Develop sourcing strategies for assigned categories
  • Run internal stakeholder communication and management and coordinate supplier relationship management
  • Be responsible for capacity planning and development and execution of business continuity plans
  • Set agenda and strategy for bid events- including- but not limited to- cost modeling- market analysis- and business need assessment
  • Support supplier audits and ensure Supplier Quality Expectations compliance
  • Lead all aspects of bid analyses and approve sourcing recommendations
  • Lead and support the development of a team of four
Qualifications
  • Presentation skills (proficiency in Power Point and comfortable presenting to groups)
  • Excellent analytical skills (statistics- economics- modeling- strong Excel capabilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Ag Econ- Economics- Finance- Engineering desired)
  • Minimum 10 years research- commodities and/or procurement experience required (commodities risk management experience desired)
  • Organizational skills (handling workload and complexity)
  • Track record of building teams and developing talent at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ground-breaking leader with a validated track-record of delivering results
  • Ability to work with wide variety of business situations and all levels of management- trade groups- conventions- etc.)
