Job Description
  • Have specialized training in security procedures and techniques.
  • Prepares drafts of security plans or procedures on assigned security matters.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • Manages and coordinates security at all assigned district locations, district-sponsored meetings/events as
  • Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience as a security professional, including minimum of two
  • Requires satisfactory background check.
  • Provides evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities, with reasonable
  • Evaluates district’s security program on a continuing basis and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Consults with building administration, leads teachers, contractors, and community members on increasing
  • Serves as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and
  • Serves as a liaison for Oklahoma City Police, Oklahoma County and other local municipalities.
  • Provides proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in
  • Assists with recruiting security personnel, coordinates their work schedules, and provides evaluations of their performance.
  • Driving personal vehicle within and outside the district.
  • Oklahoma CLEET Armed Guard License.
  • Performs any duties and responsibilities within the scope of employment, as assigned by supervisor and,
  • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
  • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
  • Requires general knowledge of word processing software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Establishes and improves rapport with school administration in the coordination of security programs.
  • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but that can be noisy at times.
  • Exposure to building in which a variety of chemical substances are used.
  • Strong communication skills with temperament and ability to convey information to individuals at all levels of skill development and cultural backgrounds.
  • Provides input into the development and implementation of an in-service training program for security
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Meets such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
  • Prepares and administers a work schedule, planned time off for personnel, and ensures personnel are being accounted for.
  • Notifies Director of Security of all security matters.
  • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
  • Ability to act quickly and decisively in emergencies.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  • Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school
  • Works with leadership to acquire security equipment identified for the needs of the school district.
