The Associate Director of Human Resources works collaboratively with the HR Team and may require the person to step in to provide additional HR Support. This role works across all divisions of the school district and should be able to provide confidential excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries. This role is required to stay vigilant on changes to HR compliance issues with Federal and State laws and regulations such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and WC.
The position is responsible for managing the HR team to maintain a professional, friendly, positive, and respectful work atmosphere by approaching internal and external interactions and collaborations with a strong customer service orientation.

The qualifications and experience for this position include:
- Education:
- Certification Preferred: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) highly desired. pHCLE is a plus.
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience:
- Computer literacy in all MS Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to implement HRIS programs.
- Minimum Required: HR-related knowledge and experience and/or training, including supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work with intermediate mathematical concepts, including percentages, ratios, and statistical inference.
- Good communication skills, including listening effectively and responding to sensitive inquiries or complaints, and delivering well-organized and effective presentations to employee groups.
- Progressively responsible HR Management or Human Services experience is required. A combination of education, certification, and experience may be substituted for educational requirements and required experience at the discretion of the Superintendent.
- Experience working for Vermont Public School preferred
