Job Description

The Associate Director / Director New Product Planning is responsible for providing strategic business analyses to support Bicycle’s oncology assets moving from preclinical through early development. The role will support new product planning and early commercial development in coordination with a matrixed, cross-functional team of SMEs (eg, clinical, translational, regulatory, commercial) by providing key insights and the following outputs for making strategic business decisions:

  • Market access, pricing, and reimbursement considerations
  • Cross-functional development of target product profiles
  • Competitive landscape assessments and competitive intelligence monitoring/reporting
  • Patient population sizing and commercial market opportunity assessments
  • Product positioning and value proposition
  • Disease landscape, patient journey, and treatment paradigm

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expertise about relevant competitors, industry trends, or disease area trends
  • As needed, participate with program teams to develop Integrated Development Plan (IDP), being guided by TPP and market insights
  • Partner with Commercial Insights and Analytics team and Finance to pressure test and refine inputs and assumptions used in sales forecast (eg, epidemiology, disease management/SOC, price, market access, market penetration, etc.) and TPP
  • From time to time, be consulted on by Executive Team, program leaders, and other key stakeholders to support decision-making. Be able to articulate recommendation clearly and concisely. As needed, prepare slide decks for Board presentations, BD discussions, or Executive Team discussions. Build slides that communicate clearly and are visually impactful.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities across the portfolio to generate key market insight and/or develop therapeutic area or indication strategies
  • As needed, provide guidance and assessment on external opportunities
  • Familiarize with Bicycle platform and understand value proposition and opportunities for differentiation in the disease market being considered
  • Build and maintain competitive landscape of key market opportunities of interest for Bicycle. Actively track breaking developments and their potential impact on the portfolio. Actively keep Executive Team, program leaders, and other key stakeholders apprised.
  • Make effective use of secondary research and publicly available information to build a cohesive landscape of the market opportunity, competitive landscape, market access drivers, and other relevant market dynamics
  • This role will lead the cross-functional development of market opportunity assessments. With help from other functions, summarize the unmet need and path to win by building Target Product Profiles to be used across discovery and development. Understand and communicate the key value drivers required for differentiation, registration, and reimbursement for successful commercialization of a Bicycle product concept. Support and promote the concept of establishing a clear commercial line of sight as early as possible in discovery
Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint with prior extensive experience in high-quality slide creation
  • Experience in a mix of consulting and industry roles
  • Fluency in understanding and communicating scientific, market and competitive data
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams and C-Suite
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process including strategic, operational, and financial aspects
  • Strong scientific knowledge and clinical acumen; able to engage, understand and translate multiple inputs that drive product uptake into commercial insights and strategic recommendations at the design stage
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills
