Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, New York. Directly partner with key salespeople, traders, and business stakeholders to design, build, deploy and monitor critical market making and risk management systems. Responsible for all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including initial analysis and requirements gathering, raising critical project issues such as technical and project risks, managing project deliverables, designing, and developing the system and releasing to production. Formulate design and implementation requirements in the system following coding best practices and utilizing object-oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Support the system with business users and communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system. Actively participate as a member of a global team on larger development projects, assume responsibilities of components of global projects, depending on need. Train and mentor interns, analysts, and other associates within the team. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies; no knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computational Finance, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with the following: developing real-time financial systems using Java and relational databases (such as Sybase), experience with concurrency and memory management; building responsive web applications and demonstrating advanced Java proficiency; developing financial software using interpreted programming languages such as Python; leveraging previous commercial experience to develop trading or regulatory platforms within the financial industry, applying knowledge of financial markets, securities trading and capital markets; and working across the entire software development lifecycle of product development, including requirements gathering; functional and technical design; development; user acceptance testing (UAT); release procedures; quality assurance (QA) testing, change request analysis; and production support.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $158,000 - $180,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
