The Lab of Dr. C. Max Schmidt, with the Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery, is seeking an Assistant/Associate Scientist or Assistant/Associate Research Professor to conduct research on the prevention and early detection of pancreatic cancer. The successful candidate will work with basic, translational, and clinical scientists including physicians/surgeons, clinical research personnel, and lab personnel. The scientist will collaborate with Dr. Schmidt, the principal investigator (PI), to develop goals and be responsible for the design, execution, and management of ongoing and newly initiated research projects. This will include analyzing and interpreting research data for publication and presentation at national and international meetings. The scientist will also write and prepare grant proposals to obtain research funding as well as be involved in mentoring students and residents.

Basic Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD or PhD in a relevant field and excellent English communication skills. We seek candidates who have a record of success publishing in the areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics, or genomics. Candidates with expertise in cancer biology, targets/therapeutics, or biomarkers are preferred.
