We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Trade Marketing Manager to spearhead national, regional and account-specific trade marketing opportunities for JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, Landmark Vineyards, Lewis Cellars and JNSQ Wines. This newly created role will work cross-functionally with our creative agency and product development teams, collaborating closely on marketing plan development and implementation, as well as all new packaging development for our high growth brands. The Assistant Manager will work cross functionally with Retail Sales, On Premise Sales, Brand Marketing, PR & Events, Consumer Insights, Logistics, Finance, eCommerce, and the Wonderful Agency as well as with multiple external partners and vendors.


The Assistant Trade Marketing Manager role requires a strong understanding of Retail and On Premise channels, accounts, shopper marketing strategies and tactics, ROI analysis and volume forecasting, and general consumer and customer marketing principles. Strong initiative and planning, project management, organization, and attention to detail are essential in this role.


This role will participate in our HYBRID work model (Mon-Wed in office, Thu-Fri remote) and is not eligible for fully remote. Our West Los Angeles office is located at 11444 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064.



  • Administer Sharepoint site, ensuring marketing materials are distributed to sales team, and deploy weekly sales updates via email
  • Develop and execute trade marketing programs for Retail Sales, including consumer sweepstakes, cross promotions, and coupon programs to support secondary display activity
  • Develop account-specific point-of-sale materials, working closely with brand marketing, sales, design team, and vendors
  • Manage annual trade marketing budget
  • Plan and implement volume-driving On Premise Sales programs
  • Oversee POS fulfillment vendor site
  • Create and manage coupon programs, including tracking of coupon redemption
  • Evaluate promotional efficacy using IRI and qualitative sales data


Qualifications


  • Occasional travel to sales meetings and account calls
  • 1-3 years marketing and/or promotions experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • CPG or retail experience is a plus
  • Project management experience
  • Alcohol industry experience or knowledge of the three-tier system is a plus
  • Experience working with a creative agency is a plus


Skills & Professional Characteristics


  • Experience leading projects and cross functional teams
  • A results-oriented self-starter who takes initiative without being asked and has a strong sense of urgency; flexible and adaptable to change
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills, understanding of basic finance concepts (coding invoices, updating budget trackers, etc.)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally without significant supervision and within timelines, with strong attention to detail


Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
