Position Details
Full-time,40 hours/wk. Hours vary and are typically 8-hour shifts. Includes nights and/or weekends. May be required to change daily work schedule on short notice to meet the supervisory needs of the department. Is expected to respond to questions or to ensure staffing coverage, in a timely manner, during off hours.
Non-exempt, Hourly, Union.
Reports to the Director of Supply Chain, EVS and DME Operations.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. DOT training, Hazardous Waste Operator First responder training preferred. If not DOT trained, then must complete within the probationary period
License/Certification
Valid driver's license required.
Experience
Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred. Experience working in a union environment is preferred. Experience using LEAN or other similar performance improvement methods to transform operations, preferred.
Job Knowledge
Cognizant of local, state and federal regulations. Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Current working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word with the ability to utilize these tools to communicate, document information, compile and review data and reports and complete required processes.
Skills
Ability to assume responsibilities for the cleanliness of the facility and the actions of the housekeeping staff. Able to make decisions governing staff and procedure changes for the department. Must be in good mental health with the ability to function as the program Supervisor and direct the staff in stressful situations. Demonstrated strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
