Job Summary

To perform the full range of room cleaning duties to ensure compliance with established organization standards. Reports maintenance deficiencies and complies with housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines, and security procedures.

Accountabilities

• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings including fire/disaster drills. - 5%
• Follows proper procedures for gathering and disposing of trash and other waste materials. - 5%
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners and polishers to strip, wax, perform other floor maintenance including refinishing. - 5%
• Maintains housekeeping equipment by proper cleaning and storage; reports malfunctions to appropriate supervisor. - 5%
• Performs routine cleaning of non-patient areas and assigned patient areas, including emptying and removing trash, dusting/damp wiping all surfaces, dust mopping/damp mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and ceiling vents, and washing windows. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, widows, doors, and bathroom walls. - 65%
• Mixes cleaning agents/chemicals in accordance with recommended ratios; uses agents efficiently and safely. - 5%
• Ensures adequate supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.) are available in assigned areas of responsibility. - 5%
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects/equipment as required for project cleaning, renovations, or special functions. - 5%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

1 year work experience of any kind
