Your Role With Us:

As part of this tight-knit group of healthcare professionals, you will apply your problem-solving methodologies for benefit of patients, clinical staff and the patient care area. You will contribute to the many staff-led projects that are designed to deliver the highest quality of care at all times.

Core Functions:

• Reinforces patient teaching in areas of activities of daily living, such as walker and crutch education, and involves family or designated care giver with car
• Staff will be required to sign up for the unit-designated number of standby hours to meet the needs of the department.
• Utilizing basic knowledge and skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, performs patient care duties. Examples include; monitoring vital signs, placing patients on cardiac monitor, assisting patients with activities of daily living, reinforcing patient teaching, performing basic patient observation skills and reporting changes in patient condition to the appropriate team member, completing EKGs etc.
• Assists with patient flow, and mobility activities including safe patient transport.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement plan of care, observes and reports patient progress.Assists with patient flow, and mobility activities including safe patient transport.
• Accurately document pertinent patient information using verbal, written and electronic communication

Background/Expertise:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer completion of one (1) year of nursing school within the last two (2) years.
• Prior experience in acute care, ambulatory care, emergency care preferred
• BLS from the American Heart Association required within 90 days.

Requires ONE of the following to be considered for hire:

• CNA certification
• EMT B certification
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school
• Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. CMA, UAP).
