Alpin Haus is looking for a motivated, outgoing, friendly, and family oriented individual to join our retail sales team as our Assistant Store Manager. • Position starts in July/August of 2023**

Schedule: Weekend and evening work is required but our schedule is flexible. Valuing family and work/life balance, our store is only open until 6 or 7 on weekdays and we are only open on Sundays from November through February.

Pay: $16-$22/hour plus incentives

Job Duties:

The Assistant Retail Store Manager will support the Manager in supervising, training and developing staff to generate sales that meet or exceed monthly targets, and will provide leadership in all aspects of retail merchandising and inventory control. They will assist in making purchase decisions by identifying trends, anticipating customer needs, and providing friendly service, resulting in maximized sales and an outstanding customer experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will assume supervisory responsibilities of Retail Sales Associates during periods of absence of the Retail Store Manager. Responsibilities include instructing and training in work methods; planning, scheduling and assigning work; and checking and approving work

Day in the Life:

• Supervise the team's efforts in arrangement of merchandise within the store and window displays in an appealing and creative way to encourage increased sales
• Identify merchandise trends and make keen and impactful purchase decisions; ensure quantity of inventory is appropriate to maximize sales opportunities and prevent product overstock
• Lead by example, by providing buyer/customer assistance in all areas of the retail store as needed, to ensure a friendly, positive, and professional shopping experience
• Assist in collaborating with Marketing team; provide ideas to drive sales based on in-store customer experiences, seasonal cycles, purchase history and community events
• Perform store opening and closing duties
• Promote product and merchandise specials, events, and sales
• Anticipate customer needs and suggestively sell products and services to enhance the customer’s outdoor experience
• Oversee and participate in the unloading of trucks and stocking of merchandise
• Supervise the efforts of the team to maintain showroom and stock areas by ensuring organization of shelves, merchandise is folded and hung according to size and style, and light housekeeping is performed throughout the workday

Qualifications:

• One year retail experience
• Active Skier or Snowboarder, or strong enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport
