Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Behrend Athletics organization is searching for an Assistant Sports Information Director. This position will serve under the Director of Athletics and the Sports Information Director and will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a social media presence by publishing articles reflecting the success of members of our athletic team
  • Assist with all promotion of events organized by the athletic department.
  • Supporting all special events that occurs within the athletic organization.
  • Assisting with handling game day operations from updating the website, producing game-day programs, compiling statistics and recordings, and reporting results to local and regional media

A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity and demonstrate and foster a positive attitude. Must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and support PSUAC, NCAA, and AMCC philosophies. Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills are essential; must be able to multi-task and is attentive to details. This position is sometimes required to flex hours to cover weekend and evening events.

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of one year of experience in athletics program/project management is highly desired.

This position is a 10-month position with the months of June and July off including full benefits.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
