Assistant Manager Sports Marketing
adidas – Portland, OR
PURPOSE
Support for the relevant departments (e.g. sports marketing, product, communications, PR, wholesale/retail) also for the subsidy companies and regions of adidas to ensure the contract rights and specifications which are granted by associations/unions/athletes, development and implementation of new concepts and guarantee of the partner activation within the context of associations/unions/athletes as well as the support in project implementation for associations/unions/athletes and be the contact point and administrative leader within the Global Sports Marketing team.
Key Accountabilities
  • Collaboration with the most important departments
  • Assistance of the global sports marketing function in all administrative tasks.
  • Coordination of the complete associations/unions/athletes projects and handling of the prognoses, orders, deliveries, etc. for all events of associations/unions/athletes.
  • Act as contact point in relation to associations/unions/athletes sponsor families
  • Act and support all event projects and equipment requests of associations/unions/athlete
  • Equipment management
  • Support the definition of promotion product strategy for associations/unions/athletes in collaboration with the teams of the certain business units
  • Representation of the brand adidas and the respective sports marketing category in all associations/unions/athletes events.
  • Coordination of the whole Kit/product approval process with the competition department of associations/unions/athletes pursuant to the associations/unions/athletes equipment rules
  • Be the contact point in relation to associations/unions/athletes for issues from service and service connected departments in collaboration with the Senior Manager.
  • Guarantee the communication and activation of the event-related rights and duties of associations/unions/athletes within the global adidas organization and the respective guest market (including management and support)
  • Coordination of the complete licensed product and related communication approval process.
  • Definition and execution of the yearly associations/unions/athletes activation plans (including licensed product strategy, retail, implementation, global brand and communication concept and B2B) considering the middle and long term vision of the adidas brand.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
  • Completed university degree preferably in Marketing & Business administration or Sports management
  • Highly motivated and concentrated with the passion to support and lead projects internal as well as external (associations/unions/athletes).
  • Well organized with a strong empathy and passion for the sport. Good knowledge of the relevant internal and external processes
  • Knowledge of the respective sports marketing category and active interest in the respective sports
  • Project management skills
  • Strong social skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • Problem solver
  • IT-Skills in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SAP
