The Resort at Paws Up is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to add to our team. The Assistant Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and Director of Facilities while leading and supporting the Maintenance Technicians on assigned projects or job locations, to instruct, correct, and specify methods to perform skilled maintenance work.


The Primary Functions Are


  • Improve service by communicating and assist the team to understand maintenance, guest, and team member needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  • Perform maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of building and utility distribution.
  • Attend and participate mandatory meetings.
  • Act as lead for assigned job order work of a complex nature.
  • Recommend repairs in maintenance work and consult with Maintenance Manager on project requirements.; Assist in determination of material, manpower requirements, and make estimates.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, maintenance facilities, and work areas.
  • Preform preventative maintenance; Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; completing repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and training of Maintenance team members.
  • Complete all maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Keep Maintenance Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so that prompt and corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
  • Submit future goals, operational improvements, and personnel management to Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage repair and maintenance projects and building improvements by effectively coordinating and planning all tasks.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment; Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with affected departments.
  • Order equipment materials and maintain and adequate inventory of required supplies in maintenance shop.
  • Maintain detailed records of work and maintenance performed.
  • Assist in overseeing the Maintenance division and team members, including project progression and instruction.
  • Inspect building and develop preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure proper information is delivered efficiently.
  • Maintain flexible hours to accommodate guest and special event needs, due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry; Position requires full availability including evenings, weekends, holidays or as needed.
  • Communicate and maintain timelines and priorities.
  • Plan, layout, direct, and inspect the work of Maintenance team members.
  • Enforce and practice safety throughout projects.
  • Support and improve maintenance services that effectively address problems affecting guests and team members.
  • Work to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction while assisting in the maintaining of the operating budget.


Looking for Team Members with:
  • Adaptable to high volume work load during peak seasons
  • Knowledge and experience working with electrical, plumbing, general building maintenance and repair skills for a facility and equipment
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office
  • Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Excellent customer relations, communication skills, and organizational skills
  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
  • Proficient ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and prioritizing workload throughout the day
  • 1+ year of direct supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of full-time experience as a journey trades worker
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team
