Do you have a passion for leadership and love to work in a fast-paced environment? This Assistant Recovery Manager position will provide you with an opportunity to lead a team of highly energized and talented individuals. This team specializes in the oversight and management of defaulted customer exposures through various loss mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Consult with and advise employees, debtors and attorneys on account related problems
  • Ensure proper application or and compliance with internal and regulatory standards, guidelines and procedures
  • Create a work environment that promotes employee engagement, in a culture focused on client advocacy and customer focus
  • Streamline workflow to ensure efficiencies within documented processes and procedures with focus on automation and modernization
  • Assign and supervise workload in the team to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
  • Provide leadership to a team of Loss Mitigation Specialists and support staff, including development of case strategy on workout, bankruptcy and litigation contract management
  • Review accounts where action beyond routine collection procedures must be approved or implemented and handle complex situations and resolve difficult or non-routine issues.
  • Cultivate staff development through coaching, mentoring, performance assessments, goal reviews and assisting in strategic initiatives
  • Assist in managing the day to day operation of the Loss Mitigation department
  • Monitor and establish effective control procedures
  • Collaborate with EF Operations Quality Assurance, Corporate Quality Assurance and Enterprise Testing to ensure policy and regulatory compliance as well as satisfactory audit ratings
  • Collaborate with other functional departments and clients to jointly resolve problems and customer related issues timely

Basic Qualifications

  • Two or more years of management/supervisory experience
  • Five to eight years of experience in collections and financial services industry
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good managerial skills
  • Thorough knowledge of general organizational operations and procedures
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of loan collection techniques, policies, procedures, and principles of credit lending
  • Basic knowledge of on-line collection systems
  • Strong understanding of collection laws and regulations
  • Ability to resolve moderate problems with minimal guidance
  • Thorough knowledge of consumer, residential, commercial and/or dealer originated installment lending as applicable
